Murphy's Laws for Armed Conflict: Recoilless rifles aren't. Suppressive fire, won't. If it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid. Incoming fire has right of way. If the enemy is in range, so are you. Try to look unimportant; they may be low on ammo. Professionals are predictable; it's the amateurs that are dangerous. Team work is essential; it gives them someone else to shoot at. Close only counts if you are on the receiving end. A sucking chest wound is nature's way of telling you to slow down. Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire. Automatic weapons, aren't. Friendly fire, isn't. When in doubt, empty the magazine. The easy way is always mined. Never draw fire.... it irritates the people around you. Make it tough enough for the enemy to get in, and you won't be able to get out. Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself. No battle plan survives contact with the enemy. The only thing more accurate than enemy incoming fire is friendly incoming fire. If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in a combat zone!
